Planning for Development
The term “development” has various meanings and interpretations, ranging from constructing a building to improving the wellbeing of a nation. The common thread is change. Plans, strategies and other planning interventions are all about managing that continual process of change – steering change in particular directions to achieve desired results. Activities through which we facilitate that process include:

- urban design and place-making;
- community planning;
- policy development;
- feasibility studies;
- development opportunity and constraint appraisals;
- strategy development;
- disaster vulnerability reduction strategies.
Whilst the terminology may be universal, the work and the product must be tailored closely to suit each unique context. We do not believe in “one size fits all” solutions: we work with each place, client and community to recognize the different challenges they face and make the most of the different opportunities they have to offer.
